Dear Parents/Carers
Year 11-13 Mock Examinations: Monday 26th February to Tuesday 26th March 2024
As you may be aware from previous correspondence and the respective parents’ evenings, all of Year 11, Year 13 and some Year 12 students will sit a second series of mock examinations in this module. This will give students another opportunity to practice sitting examinations and apply their learning to past questions. The feedback that students will receive after the examinations from their teachers will be invaluable in helping them prepare for their final examinations in May 2024.
Please find enclosed the timetable for the mock exams. We will be running these exams in line with the Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ) regulations to ensure students are practised in exam protocol to meet public examination standards. Throughout the mock examination period, students should continue to come to the Academy every day as normal. Morning exams will start at 8.30am and 11.30am, and afternoon exams will begin at 2.00pm. Some afternoon examinations will end after the official Academy day finish time, as will occur in the summer period. All students must arrive on time in the morning to ensure that they are not late for any of the examinations.
All students are expected to come fully prepared to sit their exams, including bringing all writing and specialist equipment. Students are expected to be in full Academy uniform. All examination regulations about mobile phones, watches, and other electronic devices (these are not allowed to be on a student’s person in an exam room), as well as conduct, must be adhered to and students will be removed from examinations if they fail to follow these rules. Only water in clear bottles without labels may be brought to any examination room; if bringing a pencil case, it must be clear.
Finally, we would like to remind you that students should not be taken out of the Academy for any reason during exam periods. Medical or dental appointments should not be made during this time as exams cannot be rescheduled or taken at another time to suit the student. These arrangements are exactly as they would be for all public examinations.
Should you have any further questions or require clarification on any of the details in this letter please do not hesitate to contact me at the Academy or use the respective small school contact below:
