Dear Parent/Carer

Years 11, 12, and 13 Mock Examinations – Monday 3rd  March to Friday 14th March 2025

Years 11, 12, and 13 will sit a series of mock examinations in the second and third weeks of this module. The examinations allow students to show the progress they have made since the last mock examinations. The feedback that students will receive from their teachers after the mocks will be invaluable in helping them prepare for their final examinations in May 2025.

We will be running  Years 11, 12, and 13 mock examinations in line with the Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ) regulations to ensure students are practised in exam protocols to meet public examination standards. Enclosed are the examination timetables. Throughout the mock examination period, students should arrive at the Academy as normal. Morning exams will start at 8.30am and 11.30am, and afternoon exams will begin at 2.00pm. Some afternoon examinations will end after the usual Academy day, as will occur in the summer period. It is imperative that all students arrive on time in the morning to ensure that they are not late for their examinations.

All students are expected to come fully prepared to sit their exams, including bringing all writing and specialist equipment. Students are expected to be in full Academy uniform. All examination regulations regarding mobile phones, watches, and other electronic devices (these are not allowed to be on a student’s person in an exam room) and code of conduct must be adhered to. Only water in clear bottles without labels may be brought to any examination room and if bringing a pencil case, it must be clear. Students will be removed from examinations if they fail to follow the rules.

Finally, we would like to remind you that students should not be taken out of the Academy for any reason during exam periods. Medical or dental appointments should not be made during this time as exams cannot be rescheduled or taken at another time to suit the student. These arrangements are exactly as they would be for a public exam such as a GCSE, BTEC, IB or T Level.  Should you have any further questions or require clarification on any of the details in this letter please do not hesitate to contact me at the Academy or use the respective small school contact below:

Yours faithfully,

Mr Jonathan Kamya | Head of Turing School
