Dear Parents and Carers,

UCAS Discovery Day – 4th June

We are delighted to inform you that our students have the exciting opportunity to attend the UCAS Discovery Day on Tuesday 4th June, held at the Kent Event Centre. This event is designed to help students explore their Post-18 options, including university courses and apprenticeship programmes.

The UCAS Discovery Day will provide a wealth of information and inspiration, offering a chance for our students to engage with representatives from numerous universities and apprenticeship providers. This experience aims to support them in making informed decisions about their future educational and career paths.

Key details about the trip are as follows:

  • Date: Tuesday, 4th June
  • Location: Kent Event Centre (Maidstone)
  • Transportation: Students will travel by coach at no cost
  • Schedule: The trip will take place during the normal school day hours

Unfortunately, due to a scheduled exam, students who are studying T-Level Engineering will not be able to attend this event. However, we are committed to ensuring these students have access to similar opportunities and experiences over the coming months.

The UCAS Discovery Day will be a valuable and enriching experience for all attendees, providing them with critical insights into their future options.

Please note, due to the timings of the trip, students will need to pre-order a packed lunch on Monday 3rd June (by 2pm). They can collect the lunch on the 4th of June before the trip or bring their own packed lunch. If your child is entitled to a free school meal a packed lunch will be provided.

Please ensure you complete the following consent form by 23rd May 2024. If you have any questions or require further information, please do not hesitate to contact hawking@leighacademyhalley.org.uk

Yours faithfully,
Mr James Cowie | Head of Hawking School
