Dear Parent/Carer,
End of Module 3
As we reach the end of Module 3, we reflect on the various activities and learning opportunities that have taken place in this module for both students and staff.
In our usual monitoring visit from our Academies Director, the high-quality teaching and learning experiences provided to students were praised, as were the learning opportunities for our students outside of the formal curriculum. We have been proud to welcome a range of visitors on site, to enhance the learning for our students. This has included a STEM Aircraft Challenge for Year 8, lessons from the Royal Academy of Culinary Arts, a Holocaust talk for students in Years 9 and 10 and a wide range of careers events across all year groups.
Students in Key Stages 4 and 5 continue to impress us with how they apply themselves to their studies. They have retained the key elements of their learning from Key Stage 3 and embody the IB learner profile, showing that they are true balanced thinkers who operate in a caring and reflective manner. This has been an important module for our Year 13 students as they finalise their UCAS applications and await the outcomes so that they can plan for their futures.
This module has also seen the students enjoying over 30 extracurricular clubs every week. We have had early morning clubs as well as a huge range at the end of the day. It is pleasing to see great numbers in attendance at these clubs which give students further opportunity to develop their knowledge and skills through activities that they enjoy.
A reminder that Friday 14th February 2025 is an Academy INSET day. The Academy will be closed to all students for staff training and development. The Academy will re-open to all students at the usual time on Monday 24th February 2025 after the Early Spring Break. We look forward to welcoming back all students in full Academy uniform and on time, ready to start their learning.
Please do keep in touch with your child’s small school if you require any support, and we wish you a restful half-term holiday.
Yours faithfully
Ben Russell
Principal
